Karjakin completes Russia's chess sweep of China

Xinhua, December 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chess World Cup holder Sergey Karjakin beat China's fifth player on Wednesday to wrap up Russia's victory over China.

Karjakin, who beat Wei Yi, Ding Liren, Ni Hua and Yu Yangyi in the first session of the China-Russia Chess Challenger in August, went on to defeat Wang Yue to complete Russia's 5-0 win.

Five Chinese players were the winners of Chess Olympiad.

"My confidence was up after beating four Chinese players in the first session," said Karjakin. "I went to the World Cup and won. Today I won again." Endi
