HK LegCo condemns firesetting outside its office building

The chairman of Hong Kong Legislative Council (LegCo) Commission, Jasper Tsang, Wednesday condemned the "dangerous act" of setting on fire a rubbish bin outside the LegCo office building.

According to a statement of the LegCo Secretariat, at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, a rubbish bin in the designated demonstration area of the LegCo Complex was found to be on fire by its security staff.

An explosion followed and a burnt can of compressed gas along with some debris were found.

The LegCo Secretariat has reported the case to the police.

Tsang expressed grave concern and condemned the dangerous act which could cause bodily harm.

The chairman urged law enforcement agencies to take prompt and decisive actions to arrest the culprits and bring them to justice. Endit
