Unemployment in Switzerland on the rise: report

Latest Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) figures revealed on Wednesday that unemployment in the country rose to 3.4 percent in November, up from 3.3 percent two months ago.

This means that by the end last month, 148,143 people were registered as unemployed, up 6,874 people compared to October and 11,591 people compared to the same period last year.

Unemployment among 15 to 24 year olds rose by 1.2 percent since October, reaching 20,054 by the end last month.

The number of jobseekers signed up to work in Switzerland rose by 9,966 people from October to November, reaching 210,886 people by the end of November.

SECO said the number of listed job opportunities in the country decreased by 6 last month to reach 9,465 points. Endit
