Indian parliament pays tribute to victims of 2008 Mumbai attacks

Xinhua, November 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

The lower house of Indian parliament or Lok Sabha Thursday paid tribute to the victims of 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, on the occasion of 7th anniversary of the attacks in which over 160 people were killed.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said after the House had pledged to fight terrorism, it once again pledged to "rout terror not only from India but from the world with greater resolve."

Mahajan also praised the security personnel in fighting the 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, who stormed the city after landing from a boat from Pakistan.

While nine of the attackers were killed, Ajmal Amir Kasab was the only terrorist captured alive. He was executed in November 2012 after being sentenced to death by an anti-terrorist court. Endit
