Myagmarsuren Baasankhuu of Team Attila was crowned the champion of the 2015 Colorful Yunnan Gryffindor International Cycling Race on Saturday in southwestern China's Yunnan Province.

Baasankhuu secured the overall title after he and He Xuelong of Team Yunnan crossed the finishing line neck-and-neck in the fifth and last stage in Lijiang, a small town renowned for its scenic beauty in Yunnan.

The fifth stage, covering a total distance of 100 kilometers, started with a flat stage and then climbed up to a 3,000m altitude on the slopes of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

"It's more difficult than the previous stages," Baasankhuu said after the race.

"My goal is taking the yellow jersey home, I'm glad we have made it," added the Mongolian ride.

The 2nd Colorful Yunnan Gryffindor International Cycling Race opened on Nov. 8 in Kunming, capital of the province, with the participation of about 1,000 cyclists from 25 countries and regions.

The event was overshadowed by an accident when a number of cyclists were injured in a head-on crash in the fourth stage. Endi
