NATO chief condemns terrorist attacks in Paris

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg early on Saturday condemned Friday night's terrorist attacks in Paris which have left more than 120 people dead.

"I am deeply shocked by the horrific terrorist attacks across Paris. My thoughts are with the families of the victims, with all those affected, and with the people of France," Stoltenberg said in a statement.

He stressed that NATO member states stand strong and united in the fight against terrorism.

Stoltenberg has said that, after the Paris Charlie Hebdo attack, "to fight terror requires NATO allies are working even closer together in fighting terrorism and exchanging information about, for instance, homecoming of foreign fighters."

He underlined the importance of that NATO allies are working closely together especially in the areas of police, intelligence.

Stoltenberg joined the world leaders' unity rally in central Paris on Jan. 11 to pay tribute to the victims killed in the Paris Charlie Hebdo and kosher market attacks. Endit
