The north terminal of Britain's Gatwick Airport was evacuated Saturday morning as a precautionary measure due to an incident, the airport announced Saturday.

"Due to an incident -- the North Terminal has been evacuated as a precautionary measure. Extra staff on-site looking after passenger welfare," the airport said via its twitter account.

The airport did not explain what "incident" caused the evacuation, or whether it was linked to the brutal attacks in Paris on Friday night which killed over 100 people. Endi
