Israeli forces kill Palestinian during raid in West Bank hospital

Xinhua, November 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Undercover Israeli forces killed a Palestinian in a Hebron hospital in the West Bank during a raid to arrest his relative, Israeli and Palestinian officials said Thursday.

Abdullah Azzam Shalaldeh, 27, was shot overnight, when Israeli forces arrived at the al-Ahli hospital in Hebron to arrest his cousin, Azzam Izzat Shalaldeh, a suspect in a stabbing attack in September, the Shin Bet Israeli security service said in a statement.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Shalaldeh died of his wounds.

According to the Shin Bet, Shalaldeh was shot after "attacking" forces that were trying to arrest his cousin.

Israel's Ynet news site reported that this was the second incident over the recent six-week-long wave of violence in which Israeli forces raided a Palestinian hospital to arrest suspects.

At least 78 Palestinians and 12 Israelis were killed since the unrest began in September. Endit
