Linyi city of east China to host international marathon

As a famous commodity trade center, Linyi city of east China's Shandong Province will hold its first international marathon race on Nov. 15, said organizers Thursday.
The race features marathon, half marathon and 5-kilometer race. Over 20,000 runners from China and abroad will compete in the event, including 3,000 for the full marathon, 2,000 for half marathon and 15,000 for the 5km race.
In addition to the regular event, several Olympic champions, including race walker Wang Liping and gymnast Teng Haibin, will take part in the full marathon with a wheelbarrow pushing relay, in order to memeroralize the Huai-Hai Campaign.
The 5km race called "GO blue" is designed to arise the public's awareness of climate change.
Winners of the full marathon will be awarded at least 15,000 U.S. dollars. The prize money will increase to 25,000 USD, once a man finishes his full marathon in less than 2 hours and 13 minutes, and a woman finishes full marathon in less than 2 hours and 32 minutes. Endi
