Xinhua, November 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Sun Chunlan, head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with representatives of the Hong Kong Volunteers Federation (HKVF) in Beijing on Monday.

Sun praised the HKVF for their commitment to the "one country, two systems" policy, as well as their patriotism and love for Hong Kong.

Sun said Hong Kong and Macao will be given greater roles in promoting economic development and opening up following the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee held last week.

Sun expressed the hope that the HKVF could continue to support the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) on social, political and economic issues.

HKVF was established in 2014 as an umbrella organization to unite volunteer groups in Hong Kong. Endi
