U.S. tops medal table of World Gymnastics Championships

The 2015 World Gymnastics Championships concluded all competitions here on Sunday in Scotland's largest city with the United States winning the most gold and total medals.
The United States won a total of 10 medals including five golds, two silvers and three bronzes, followed by Japan with five medals including four golds and one bronze, and Russia with four medals including three golds, one silver.
China placed fourth with eight medals including two golds, two silvers and four bronzes.
Britain was fifth with five medals including one gold, three silvers and one bronze. DPR Korea had one gold and one silver for the sixth place and Greece stood at seventh with one gold.
Bruno Grandi, the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) President, hailed the 46th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships as "super" and "professional" with the gymnasts becoming the "protagonist".
The Glasgow championships attracted the participation of a record 594 world's finest gymnasts from a record 87 countries and regions.
With delegations, media, sponsors and guests, the total attendance number was in excess of 70,000, said the organizer.
Since the Rio Olympic Games is scheduled next year, the next World Gymnastics Championships will take place in Montreal, Canada in 2017. Endi
