Int'l Marionnettes Festival kicks off in Vietnam

The fourth International Marionnettes Festival kicked off in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Saturday night.

The event draws the participation of troupes from Vietnam and nine foreign countries including Russia, Britain, Germany, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Belgium and the Philippines.

According to a representative of Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event will show the talent and creativity of Vietnamese and foreign artists.

This is also an opportunity to promote Vietnam's unique puppetry arts to the world and strengthen cultural exchange among participants.

The event is scheduled to run till Oct. 16.

The International Marionnettes Festival has been held since 2008 in Vietnam. Endi
