Namibia seek positive start to FIFA World Cup Qualifers

Namibia's national football team, the Brave Warriors will lock horns with the Scorpions of Gambia on Friday in the first leg of the 2018 FIFA World Cup preliminary round in Banjul Gambia.
Namibia coach Ricardo Mannetti said that Gambia will be a tricky opponent, but he hopes for the best from his team.
"I have seen Gambia play at home and lose to Cameroon in the AFCON qualifier but they are a decent side that can surprise anyone. We need to have a strong mindset going there and try to do our best at all times," he added.
Brave Warriors captain, Ronald Ketjijere said his team needs to maintain ball possession and gun for goals in their quest of achieving a positive start to their campaign.
The 18-men Brave Warriors team that was called up last week is now in Banjul and according to the team captain, the team is raring to go.
"The lads are pumped up and the response is great going into the match," added Ketjijere.
Namibia's squad includes: Virgil Vries, Maximillian Mbaeva, Chris Katjiukua, Willem Mwedihanga, Benyamin Nenkavu, Hendrik Somaeb, Denzil Haoseb, Dennis Ngueza, Ananias Gebhardt, Willy Stephanus, Benson Shilongo, Wangu Gome, Deon Hotto, Ronald Ketjijere, Heinrich Isaacks, Joslin Kamatuka, Petrus Shitembi and Absalom Iimbondi.
Meanwhile, the return second league of the qualifiers is slated for Oct. 13 and is to be played at the Sam Nuyoma Stadium in Namibian capital Windhoek. Endi
