Muguruza to play Venus at Wuhan Open final

Garbine Muguruza defeated Angelique Kerber 6-4, 7-6(5) on Friday to move into the Wuhan Open final and within touching distance of a place at the WTA Finals Singapore.

Victory over Venus Williams in Saturday's final will assure Muguruza a place in Singapore. Earlier in the day Williams avenged her sister's US Open defeat with a three-set win over Roberta Vinci, US Open finalist, 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (4).

"It was a really tough match and I had to struggle today," Muguruza said. "Venus is a legend. I'll have to go out there and do my best to win against her and I think it's going to be a great final." Endi
