Real Madrid football club on Friday held a homage to Cristiano Ronaldo in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in honor of the two goals he scored away to Malmo on Wednesday night which saw him pass the 500 goal tally in his career and draw level with Raul Gonzalez on 323 goals as the maximum goalscorer in Real Madrid' s history.

Ronaldo was accompanied by his team-mates, as well as club President, Florentino Perez and the Board of Directors.

"It is an honor for me to be the maximum goal scorer in the team. I never imagined I would beat Raul and Alfredo Si Stefano. I am very happy and first of all I want to thank my team-mates as it would not have been possible," said Ronaldo.

The striker also thanked the coaches he had worked with at the club, as well as the medical staff and his agent Jorge Mendes.

Meanwhile Perez said that Ronaldo was a "legend" in the club, adding that "Real Madrid fans everywhere love you."

Ronaldo has hit his record just as a film about him is about to hit cinema screens all over Europe and the world. Endi
