Two children were killed and another wounded Thursday night in a shooting in city center of Albania's capital Tirana.

The incident occured near the populated "1st May Park", where gunshots killed a boy and a girl, wounded another boy, and panicked the citizens, according to the Albanian Daily News.

The three victims were inside a BMW car with a plate of AA675 JS, and police suspected that the killer fired at the car with a Kalashnikov.

The wounded driver, currently at the Trauma Hospital in critical conditions, seemed to have shot back.

Local police have arrived at the scene while causes of the event remain unknown. Road blocks have been established throughout the city to capture the gunman, who was suspected of escaping to the other shore of Lana River. Endi
