Indian naval ship visits central Vietnam

Xinhua, October 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian naval warship INS Sahyadri arrived at Tien Sa port in Vietnam's central Da Nang city on Friday for a four-day visit.

The visit is in pursuance of India's "Look East" and "Act East" policy, the Indian Navy said on its website.

The visit of INS Sahyadri with over 300 crew members and officials onboard is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing inter-operability between navies of India and Vietnam.

INS Sahyadri is an indigenously built warship of the Shivalik Class and was inducted into the Indian Navy in July 2012.

During the visit to Da Nang, officials of the INS Sahyadri will pay courtesy calls on leaders of municipal authorities and military command, and join in sports activities with local navy as well as joint exercise for search and rescue procedures. Endi
