Xinhua, October 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Greece has led foreign investment in Albania, accounting for 26 percent of the total, the Bank of Albania said here Thursday.

Greece has the largest inflow of foreign investment in Albania, with the number reaching 1.16 billion lek (9.3 million U.S. dollars) in 2014, an increase of 7 percent year on year, the bank said.

Greek companies, in the wake of the debt crisis in their own country, are present mainly in Albania in the telecommunications sector, processing industry, wholesale, and trade, among others.

The second largest investor in Albania is Canada, with an investment of 775 million euros (865 million U.S. dollars), or 17 percent of the total.

Italy ranked the third, with an investment of about 526 million euros (587 million dollars), or 12 percent of the total. Endi
