Migration corridor to Germany proposal not supported by Austria: Hungarian PM

Austria does not support the proposal of creating a corridor for migrants to travel through Croatia, Hungary and Austria to Germany, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Friday after meeting with Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann.

In a press meeting, Orban told reporters their talks were productive. However, he said Faymann made clear he does not support Croatia's proposal to build a corridor for migrants through Croatia, Hungary and Austria to Germany.

Most of the migrants from the Middle East want to settle in Germany after passing through the Balkan region, Hungary and Austria.

Hungary has closed its border with Serbia, blocking many migrants hoping to make it into the Schengen zone. Many are now trying to enter the Schengen zone from Croatia. Endite
