Senior leaders pledge more aid to ensure Xinjiang stability

Senior Chinese officials on Wednesday vowed to continue providing assistance to Xinjiang, in a bid to maintain stability and prosperity in the northwestern region.

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said the assistance should help create local jobs, promote education, improve infrastructure at the grassroots level, and strengthen the anti-terrorism capacity building. Endi
