Xinhua, September 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indonesia is taking measures to speed up the flow of goods at the country's main sea port in Jakarta, a senior official said here Wednesday.

Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Rizal Ramli has set target to cut dwelling time at Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta by two days from the current 4.67 days, starting next month, said Deputy II for Natural Resources and Services of Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Agung Kuswandono.

The government will impose fines for containers that has their goods at the port exceeding a maximum free time of three days, he said, adding that a railway connecting the sea port to other areas is set to operate next month.

The amount of fine is risen to 5 million rupiah (some 341.93 U. S. dollars) per container from 150,000 rupiah (about 10.26 U.S. dollars), the dwelling time taskforce leader told a press conference. Endi
