China, Hungary hold defense strategic consultation, pledge more cooperation

Xinhua, September 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

China and Hungary vowed to step up military cooperation, as the two countries held a defense strategic consultation Wednesday in Beijing.

This consultation helped mutual understanding and trust, Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan said when meeting with Peter Siklosi, deputy state secretary at the Hungarian Defense Ministry after the consultation.

Co-chaired by Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and Siklosi, it was the second meeting of its kind between the two countries.

"We are willing to continue high-level reciprocal visits and strategic dialogue, and strengthen communication and cooperation in such fields including international peace-keeping, military academics and personnel training, so as to lift the two countries' military relationship to a higher level," Chang said.

The Hungarian side pays high attention to the relationship, Siklosi said, pledging to deepen pragmatic cooperation in all areas.

The first defense strategic consultation was held last year in the Hungarian capital Budapest. Endite
