Xinhua, September 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari arrived here on Tuesday afternoon for a three-day official visit, where he will witness a signing ceremony of two cooperation agreements between the two countries.

Ansari was greeted by Cambodian Information Minister Khieu Kanharith and other officials at the Phnom Penh International Airport upon his arrival.

The vice president will hold official talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday and preside over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation and the agreement on Mekong-Ganga Cooperation between the two countries, according to a statement from the Cambodian foreign ministry.

He will also pay courtesy calls on Senate President Say Chhum and National Assembly President Heng Samrin. In addition, he will give an address on India-Cambodia relations at the Office of the Council of Ministers.

Ansari will finish his Cambodia trip with a visit to the Angkor Wat Temple in northwestern Cambodia's Siem Reap province on Thursday.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Monday that the vice president's visit to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap will provide an opportunity to reaffirm and strengthen bilateral relations including commercial and investment ties.

"It will also strengthen our pursuit of a closer and enduring partnership with the countries of ASEAN region as part of our Act East policy," the statement said. Endi
