Singapore stocks close 1.03 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 29. 53 points, or 1.03 percent, to close at 2,841.94.

A total of 1.34 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 50 billion Singapore dollars (1.07 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 241 to 167, while 529 others finished unchanged.
