The Tourist Office of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government rolled out a roadshow in Hong Kong at the weekend to promote upcoming events including Macao Grand Prix and "Parade through Macao, Latin City" to be held later this year.

The "Experience Macao Carnival" roadshow features three highlight exhibitions - "Step Out, Experience Macao's Community", "10th Anniversary of the Inscription of 'The Historic Center of Macao' on World Heritage List" and "Macao Grand Prix."

A Classic Formula 3 racing car along with a race car of actress Chrissie Chau Sau Na in the upcoming Celebrity Cup Race were on display.

The roadshow in promotion for "Step Out, Experience Macao's Community" travel routes is to encourage the public to explore Macao through the interactive photo booths, such as Macao 3D Photo Booth, Macao Magic Photo Booth, Ruin's of St. Paul Model booth and Grand Prix Gas Station Instant Photo Booth.

Chrissie Chau, Wilfred Lau Ho Lung and Alex Fong Lik Sun, who will be racing at the Celebrity Cup Race of Macao Grand Prix this year, were presented at the stage on Saturday to share their experiences of preparation for the race.

Mini "Parade through Macao, Latin City" was put on show and fabulous prizes were given out to the audience through interactive games.

Due to geographical proximity, Hong Kong has been the second largest tourist source market of Macao. Hong Kongers accounted for more than 20 percent of the total visitors of Macao. The tourist office of Macao SAR has cooperated with six travel agencies in Hong Kong to offer special travel packages with exclusive offers during the roadshow carnival, encouraging locals of Hong Kong to experience this fascinating city.

As visitor arrivals of the region saw a year-on-year decline of 3.5 percent in the first seven months, Macao has taken promotional measures to enhance tourist attractions by diversifying tourism products of synthesizer tourism, culture and tournament events, as well as travel packages with discount.

The Macao SAR government said it will deepen regional cooperation with Guangdong province and Hong Kong to introduce new multi-destination tour routes, and work with tourism industry to put forward strategies to accommodate markets changes. Endi
