Singapore stocks close 1.37 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 40. 15 points, or 1.37 percent, to close at 2,888.03.

A total of 914.m billion shares changed hands with turnover of 758.7 million Singapore dollars (534.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 303 to 129, while 506 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 42.86 points, or 1.49 percent, to close at 2,928.18 on Wednesday. Endi
