Hong Kong police seize 120 involved in illegal gambling

Xinhua, September 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Hong Kong police have arrested 120 people in an operation against illegal gambling in Tai Po, local media reported on Thursday.

Officers said they raided 18 venues believed to be run by a triad group active in the area.

Apart from organizing gambling sessions, the gang also provided loans to gamblers at very high interest rates, said the media report.

The police said one of the venues had been in operation for up to six years. They also said it had a regular customer base of between 70 and 80 people. Endi
