Germany' s Reus to miss both European Qualifiers encounter

Xinhua, September 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Germany international Marco Reus suffered a toe injury to miss the two upcoming European Qualifiers matches, the German Soccer Association (DFB) announced in an official statement on Thursday.

The Dortmund defender will be out of action for the play-off encounters against Poland and Scotland in Group D of the European Qualifiers. Reus left the squad already yesterday after he was diagnosed with a slightly broken great toe by the team' s medical unit.

According to the DFB the 26-year-old midfielder sustained the injury during the Bundesliga encounter against Hertha Berlin. Borussia Dortmund will assume the further treatment of Reus' broke toe.

It is another setback for Reus, who had been sidelined with injuries for most of the time. With Germany he suffered an ankle injury in a test match to miss the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. After his recovery from the injury he suffered again an ankle injury to make only 20 appearances for the "BVB" in the last season.

Tomorrow Germany clashes with Poland before they face Scotland three days later in the UEFA European Qualifiers Group D. Endi
