Nigeria's special athletes get presidential commendation

Nigeria's special athletes on Monday received a commendation from President Muhammadu Buhari who lauded their great exploits at the just concluded Special Olympics hosted by the United States.
In a statement released by the presidency, the Nigerian leader described the team's success as "inspiring victories" as they won a total of 71 medals, including 34 golds.
"President Buhari assures the athletes that the federal government and all Nigerians are very proud of their exhilarating and dominant performance at the Special Olympics in which they won medals in all featured events," the statement said.
The Nigerian leader also promised to personally receive members of the team at the presidential palace to celebrate with them, the statement signed by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, added.
The 2015 Special Olympics world summer games opened on July 25 in Los Angeles. Endi
