Vietnam, Bangladesh target 1 bln trade revenue in 2016

Vietnamese and visiting Bangladeshi presidents agreed to bring bilateral trade turnover to 1 billion U. S. dollars in 2016 during their talks here on Monday.
Bangladeshi President Abdul Hamid is on a five-day visit to Vietnam from Sunday.
During talks, the two presidents said both sides have enjoyed positive results in economic and trade cooperation with bilateral trade in 2014 posted a growth of 40 percent compared to the previous year, reaching nearly 800 million U.S. dollars.
The two presidents agreed that potentials for bilateral trade and economic cooperation remain huge, and Vietnam can further promote exports to Bangladesh.
In order to realize the target of bilateral trade revenue, the two sides pledged to coordinate in sharing of market information, investment and business procedures as well as create favorable conditions for enterprises of both sides.
They also reached consensus on expanding cooperation in the fields of garment and textile, mining, energy, mechanical manufacturing, construction, food processing and telecommunications, among others, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA.
On the same day, President Hamid also met with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung.
