Former Primer league defender joins Turkish Trabzonspor

Xinhua, August 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Former Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers defender Christopher Samba boarded a private plane to Turkey Thursday to complete his move to Trabzonspor, BGN News reported.

The 31-year-old France born Congolese defender will join the Turkish side from Dynamo Moscow without a transfer fee. Samba will earn 2.5 million euros annually.

The news broke out when Trabzonspor general manager Serhat Altinci shared a photo with the defender onboard the private plane which took off from London in Thursday morning.

Samba joined Dynamo Moscow from Anzhi Makhachkala in the start of the 2013-2014 season after serving for Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League.

Trabzonspor which finished last year's domestic league in a mere 5th place, have embarked on another busy summer in the transfer market, securing Stephane Mbia from Sevilla, as well as 24-year-old Lazio wing-back Luis Cavanda.

Samba will also be joining the likes of Oscar Cardozo, Kevin Constant and Jose Bosingwa. It is reported that Trabzonspor are closing down a deal to bring in Hull City's Dame N'Doye. Enditem
