French champions Paris Saint-Germain officially announced the signature of Angel di Maria until June 30, 2019 on Thursday.
"Transferred from Manchester United, the Argentine midfielder signed a four-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain, on Thursday, in the club offices," read a press release by the French capital-based top flight team.
"Earlier this week, he went to Doha to undergo his medical examination before flying to Paris, on Wednesday, to complete his transfer to the club," it added.
No financial details have been disclosed, though earlier reports indicated that PSG and United agreed a 63 million euros (about 44.3 million pounds) fee for the Argentine international on Sunday.
Later on Thursday evening, the French treble winners will present Di Maria to the media in a central Paris hotel.
Di Maria, who was the man of the match in the 2014 Champions League final when Real beat Atletico Madrid 4-1, told the official statement that he wanted to enable PSG's progress further in Europe.
"I am very proud, and can't wait to wear the colors of Paris Saint-Germain. I want to win every competition we enter, both in France and Europe," he said.
"I want to win the Champions League, which is a dream for all footballers, for a second time," he added. "We will do everything we can to bring Europe's biggest trophy to France and the fans of Paris Saint-Germain."
Before joining United in the summer of 2014, Di Maria lifted with Real Madrid the trophy of the UEFA Champions League, in which he shone in the final against Atletico Madrid.
"We are very proud that Angel Di Maria has chosen Paris Saint-Germain," commented PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi. "He is an incredibly talented player, with a frightening speed and ability to beat opposition players."
"He adds his name to the club's strong South American community and, above all, the big Paris Saint-Germain family. By signing Angel Di Maria, Paris Saint-Germain is once again showing the club's constant ambition to reach the summits of the European game," added the Qatari.
Di Maria will be presented the PSG fans at Parc des Princes on August 16 before the first home game of Ligue 1 new season when PSG host promoted Ajaccio.
The Argentine international, who has earned 66 caps for his national team scoring 15 goals, joined Manchester United from La Liga's Real Madrid for a British record 59.7 million pounds a year ago, but failed to win a regular starting position at Old Trafford under coach Louis van Gaal.
He only started one of the final 10 games of last season after having only scored four goals in 32 games of all competitions for United, and netted the last of his three league goals in October.
The Argentine failed to show for United's pre-season tour of the United States last month and was fined 360,000 pounds by the club. Enditem
