Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi officially opened on Thursday afternoon the "New Suez Canal" for ship traffic amid high-profile international delegations, Xinhua correspondent reported from Ismailia, about 120 km northeast of the capital Cairo.

ISLAMABAD -- At least nine people were killed when a helicopter crashed near Pakistan's northern Abbottabad district Thursday evening, local media and officials said.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The 48th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM) and related meetings concluded here Thursday with confidence in completing the building of the ASEAN Community by the year-end.

YANGON -- Negotiators of the Myanmar government and ethnic armed groups agreed here on Thursday to continue discussions on remaining points of a draft nationwide ceasefire accord (NCA).

The remaining points yet to be finalized include invitation of domestic and foreign witnesses to be present for the formal signing of the NCA, senior adviser of the government's Myanmar Peace Center U Hla Man Shwe told a press conference after the first day of the 9th round of ceasefire talks resumed at the Myanmar Peace Center. RIYADH -- Thirteen people were killed and nine others injured on Thursday in a suicide blast targeting a mosque in the south of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Press Agency confirmed.

Ten of the dead were policemen and three were workers in the mosque in the city of Abha, where they were performing afternoon prayer. Three of the injured are in critical condition, Saudi Interior Ministry spokesperson said in a statement. (Saudi Arabia-Explosion) Endi
