Xinhua, August 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza Vieira, the giant of Portuguese modern architecture, will remodel an old hotel in the Macau Special Administrative Region of China, Portuguese Lusa News Agency revealed on Thursday.

Siza Vieira is expected to travel to Macau in October and is planning the remodelling of the old Estoril hotel where he wants to launch creative and artistic activities.

According to Lusa, Siza Vieira is in favor of the demolition of the building's facade, which has a tile panel and was inaugurated in 1960, though a final decision has not been made.

Earlier this year Siza Viera won an award for the Building of the Year by prestigious online publication ArchDaily.com for The Building on the Water project located in Huai'An, Jiangsu Province, China. Endit
