New Zealand scores big win against Zimbabwe

Xinhua, August 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

New Zealand recorded a thumping ten wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second of their three match cricket One Day International series in Harare on Tuesday.

Martin Guptill and Tom Latham made an opening partnership of 236, a record at Harare Sports Club to guide the tourists home.

Guptill finished unbeaten on 116 while Latham had 110 as Zimbabwe bowlers struggled for penetration.

The result means that the series is tied at 1-1 going into the final match which will be played at the same ground on Friday.

Zimbabwe upset their visitors with a seven wicket win on Friday with Craig Ervine scoring 130 runs.

There was no such success Monday even though Sikandar Raza Butt scored 100 for Zimbabwe, with New Zealand bowlers, particularly Grant Elliot and Ish Sodhi doing a good job with the ball after the hosts had won the toss. Endi
