Flood kills 6 in NE Afghanistan province

Flash flood claimed six lives including women and children in Badakhshan province on Saturday night, spokesman for provincial government Ahmad Nawed Frotan said Sunday. "Heavy rains and flood hit Kofab district last night and besides killing six people including women and children also washed away or badly damaged more than 120 houses there," Frotan told reporters here.

Local authorities are trying to provide necessary assistance to the affected people, the official added. Endi
