KAZAN, Russia, July 25 (Xinhua) - Russian' s triple Olympic champion Svetlana Romashina dominated the synchronized swimming solo technique final at the Kazan worlds here on Saturday, while China' s Sun Wenyan came third.

Romashina won the final with 95.2680 points, trailed by Spain' s Ona Carbonell, who earned 93.1284. Sun ranked third in 91.5479.

"I performed better than I did in the preliminary," said Sun. "I am very excited with the result. I just wanted to show my best in the final and I did."

"We all know that the Russian is the best in synchronized swimming, but I think the gap between us is smaller and smaller these years. I hope China can surpass them by the next Olympic Games," Sun added.

Sun will also take part in the duet event with teammate Huang Xuechen on Sunday. Endi
