Slovenia sees record number of hot days

Xinhua, July 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

A record number of days with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius in a single month had been recorded in many parts of Slovenia, Slovenian Press Agency (STA) reported Saturday.

Citing Slovenian Environment Agency, the report said July 2015 will set a record in terms of average air temperature.

In Ljubljana, temperatures climbed to over 30 degrees 19 times in the first 22 days of the month, Slovenian Environment Agency said.

The previous record, 18 days, was recorded in July 2006, when average air temperature in Ljubljana was 23.6 degrees.

The heat was accompanied by a few storms, leaving the ground very dry, with the smallest amount of rainfall recorded on the coast -- only a few millimetres since the beginning of the month. Endit
