Two bomb blasts by anti-government militants against police injured 13 people including 10 civilians on Saturday in Afghanistan.
Abdul Khalil Asir, spokesman of the northern Takhar province said that a blast occurred in the province's capital Taluqan, 245 km north of the national capital, at 03:15 p.m. local time, leaving nine persons including eight civilians injured.
"Terrorists planted an explosive device on the cavities of a motorbike and detonated it next to an office of police in Taluqan city," Asir said.
All the victims have been taken to hospital, he added.
The official blamed the enemies of peace, a reference to the Taliban militants for the bloody bombing, but the armed outfit has yet to claim responsibility.
Earlier in the day, four people including two civilians were injured in a roadside bombing in the eastern Nangarhar provincial capital Jalalabad city, 120 km east of Kabul at around 10:00 a.m. local time, according to police.
"The anti-government militants organized a roadside bomb in the third police district of Jalalabad city and the device went off at around 10:00 a.m. local time today when a police van was passing the area, leaving four persons including two police and two civilians injured," Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, police spokesman in the province said.
Mashriqiwal also blamed Taliban militants for the attack. They have yet to claim responsibility.
