Schalke extend with Germany's U-19 international Leroy Sane

Xinhua, July 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

The "Royal Blues" have extended the contract of attacking midfielder Leroy Sane ahead of schedule, the Bundesliga outfit confirmed via the club' s official homepage on Saturday.

The 19-year-old youth talent, who signed his first professional contract with Schalke last season until 2017, has put pen to paper on a contract extension until June 2019.

"Leroy is a very talented player. He showed us last season how versatile he can be in our offence. Given his development and great potential we are pleased that Leroy sees his future at Schalke," Schalke's sporting director Horst Held said.

Sane played three years for Schalke's youth teams before he turned professional in April 2014. The attacking midfielder scored ever since three goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances. He also scored in his UEFA Champions League debut against Real Madrid.

Schalke face Werder Bremen at the first round in Bundesliga on August 15. Endi
