Xinhua news app attracts over 50 million users

Xinhua, June 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

The latest version of Xinhua News Agency's mobile news app has become hugely popular, downloaded for more than 52 million times since its launch on June 8.

The app provides more than 1,000 items of news every day in the form of stories, photos, infographics and videos. It runs in both Android and iOS, as well as on Apple watches and other high-tech gizmos.

Users can access information services based on their geographical location and have real-time interaction with over 3,000 Xinhua correspondents around the world by leaving comments on most items.

Xinhua is continuously improving the user experience based on feedback. For example, an innovative program named "animated news" employs 3D animation technology to reproduce news events, with average reading views of each story exceeding 10 million.

The new app has 118 improvements from the previous version and is now a leading online news platform. Endit
