43 militants killed elsewhere in Afghanistan in 24 hours: MoI

A total of 43 Taliban militants were killed elsewhere in the war-torn Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement released here Sunday. "A total of 43 armed insurgents have been killed during series of operations conducted in Kunduz, Faryab, Oruzgan, Nooristan, Ghazni and Helmand provinces over the past 24 hours," the statement said.

In the operations led by police and backed by the army, 25 more militants sustained injuries, the statement added.

It didn't say if there were casualties on the security personnel. Taliban militants fighting the government are yet to make comments. Endit
