Xinhua, June 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

The 2nd Iberoamerican Congress of Chinese Studies successfully came to an end on Friday in Spain's northeastern city of Barcelona.

"My valuation (of the meeting) is very positive," Chang Shiru, Director of the Confucius Institute of Barcelona Foundation said to Xinhua.

People are very satisfied with the attention received, but also with the academic level, the venue and the large number of participants, he pointed out.

This year there were 198 registrations and 89 talks compared to the 150 registrations and 80 talks of the first Iberoamerican Congress of Chinese Studies, which shows an evident increase in the number of participants from 2012 to 2015.

Carlos Marcuello, speaker at the Congress and coordinator of a Master on Business in China and Asia-Pacific from FUNIBER (Iberoamerican University Foundation), said his experience at the Congress was very positive.

"The most interesting part here is networking," he told Xinhua. "We are meeting people, sinologists, teachers, businessmen from different countries, all of them specialized in China", he said, "this is the most enriching part", he concluded.

The 2nd Iberoamerican Congress of Chinese Studies was held on June 25 and 26 in the northeastern city of Barcelona, following on the first one held in 2012.

The event gathered important figures from Iberoamerica and China who shared during these two days their expertise on issues in relation with Chinese studies.

The event is organized by the Confucius Institute of Barcelona Foundation and the Confucius Institutes from the Universidad Nacional de la Plata in Argentina and Universitat de Valencia in Spain. Endit
