The 2015 Donauinselfest (Danube Island Festival) music festival in Austria was officially opened by Vienna Mayor Michael Haeupl on Friday.

Three million visitors are expected for what is one of Europe's largest open-air festivals, with 1,500 artists and performers, 11 music stages, and a program making up a total 600 hours to feature.

The varied program is designed to cater to a number of tastes, with pop, theater, and cabaret performances on Friday alone.

A number of stars are also to perform, including Anastacia, Natalie Imbruglia, along with domestic acts such as pop bands Opus and Wanda, rapper Nazar and DJ Oetzi. Endit
