Thailand's Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has asked the New Zealand government to extradite a former activist charged with lese majeste, the OAG spokesperson said on Tuesday.
The OAG has sent a request to New Zealand authorities under a 2008 extradition agreement to have Ekkapop Luara extradited so that he could face trial in Thailand, Wanchai Rujanawong, director- general of the OAG's Foreign Affairs Office, was quoted by Bangkok Post as saying.(Thailand-Lese majeste)

HO CHI MINH CITY -- Many flights were unable to take off or land at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City as the air traffic control (ATC) system there was down for nearly 20 minutes on Tuesday morning, local online newspaper Tuoi Tre (Youth) News reported.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) confirmed to the newspaper that the incident occurred at 7:47 a.m. local time and lasted for 18 minutes.(Vietnam-Air traffic)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia's opposition party Pakatan Rakyat, or the People's Alliance, has come to an end, Lim Guan Eng, Penang chief minister and secretary-general of Democratic Action Party ( DAP), said on Tuesday.
