China stocks open lower Wednesday

Chinese stocks opened lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.26 percent to open at 5,049.20.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 17,297.04, down 0.59 percent.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.28 percent lower at 3,695.06 points. Endi
