Tokyo stocks open lower on concerns over global factors

Xinhua, June 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower in early trading Wednesday as investor sentiment was dented by concerns over the potential impact of an early U.S. interest rate hike and Greece's future in the euro zone.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 19.34 points, or 0.10 percent, from Tuesday to 20,076.96. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange moved 1.19 points, or 0.07 percent lower, to 1,633.18.

Decliners were led by shipping, land transport and financing business issues. Endi
