High tech designs gain attention at Milan Expo 2015

Xinhua, June 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Expo Milano 2015 not only presents diverse cultures and calls for concern about food and agriculture, but also shows innovative high tech designs among pavilions in the gala.

German Pavilion is the largest self-built national venue at this expo, which is designed as a space of technology covering almost 5,000 square meters. "Seed board" plays a role of creative high tech messenger.

A folded paper board as big as an invitation card could present multimedia display under projection, which serves as a monitor of tablet computer. People can turn over pages, enter or exit the programmes through tilting the board, realizing personal experience of the shows instead of group lecturing.

Audience in the pavilion enjoy their visit via this little technological device, deepening knowledge of German agricultural development.

Double rows of spectacular canyon-like sand walls as high as 12 meters attract visitors with the mysterious atmosphere of desert countries. The sand walls are not just decorations, but cooling equipments of the United Arab Emirates Pavilion.

Made of special material with glass in it, the structure and design of the sand walls could block the sunshine and improve the ventilation, achieving three degrees of cooling in an open environment.

"Vertical garden" of 70-meter-length and 12-meter-height highlights Israel Pavilion as an agricultural power in the Middle East. The green wall overcomes the gravity problem, and keeps moisture to make the plants flourished in hot and dry weather.

The unique design shows Israel's advanced technology in agricultural science and fighting drought. Endit
