Borussia Dortmund signed midfielder youngster Julian Weigl from second division side TSV 1860 Munich, both sides confirmed in an official statement on Monday.

The eighth-time German champions reinforce their squad for the upcoming season with the second signing of the summer transfer window. Weigl joined from second division club TSV 1860 Munich by putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2019.

"Julian Weigl is a promising prospect for our central midfield. He has a great development potential," Dortmund's sporting director Michal Zorc told the club's official homepage.

The 19-year-old Under-20 German international made overall 38 appearances for TSV 1860 Munich. Both clubs agreed to keep silence over further contract details. Endi
