UAE, Poland agree to boost bilateral trade

Xinhua, May 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al-Mansoori and Polish Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechocinski met here Thursday to discuss strengthening economic ties.

The meeting was convened with high-level officials from both countries and representatives of the business community, UAE's state news agency WAM reported.

Al-Mansoori said bilateral trade between the two nations increased from a total of 500 million U.S. dollars in 2012 to 1.3 billion dollars in 2014, marking an outstanding 160 percent increase in two years.

The Polish side said it wanted to promote close bilateral cooperation, especially in areas like renewable energy, food security, industry and technology.

Piechocinski said that the UAE has become Poland's most important partner in the Arab world, and that a new office for trade and investment promotion will be opened in Abu Dhabi within the diplomatic representation of Poland. Endi
